You spread the word about your business through advertising. Why do some advertisements work while others don’t? The way you advertise determines the success of your product sales. 1. Place your advertisements on pages with suitable web content

2. Make your ads so that they are specifically related to a particular product or service

4. Test your web pages to make sure that your ad directly links to the specified product or service you have highlighted on your ads.

5. Position your ads in the right places. Your ads should be placed at high-visibility areas in the webpage, more preferably on top than at the bottom of the webpage.

6. Animated ads tend to grab more attention than static ones. Your graphics should attract your visitor’s curiosity without being complicated.

7. Graphic ads should not be too large, as it will take forever to download. This is testing your visitors’ patience and they may just leave your site since they do not want to waste their time searching for their product.

8. Positive words such as guarantee, special, new, loyal, dependable, sale, etc. are keywords that attract customers to read your ads.

9. You have to learn to stay away from certain colors and patterns. Use a dominating background color such as yellow, which would catch the eye of your reader. Advertisements with dark colored backgrounds and lines, stripes or floral designs should be avoided since they would strain the eyes of your reader.

10. For your ad text you could use colors that are subtler since you want your readers to read and remember your message. You could however highlight key words in your message with yellow or neon.

11. Your fonts should be simple. Sans serif fonts are the most commonly used fonts. You should try to limit the variety of fonts used to two or three different ones on the same web page. Too many variations in font tend to distract the reader. Do not drive away your customers with very large fonts and loud colors.

12. Lesser number of words used on your text speaks more of your product. Make sure to keep your message short and precise.
